Unit 7 recap
Four lessons about media and the future:
- 📺 Lesson 25 · La télé de demain → le futur simple + time markers for the future.
- 📱 Lesson 26 · Allô ! Tu es où ? → infinitive (present + past) + avant de / après.
- 📰 Lesson 27 · Situation de crise → expressing consequence (donc, si…que, trop…pour) + highlighting (c'est…qui/que).
- 📖 Lesson 28 · La presse magazine → letter to the editor + France Médias Monde.
In this review, you'll put it all into practice in 3 situations close to DELF A2 exam tasks.
React! 📺
The magazine Télé-Hebdo invites readers to share what they like or don't like on TV. The most interesting comments will be published in next week's issue. Your turn — write several positive and/or negative comments about television.
💡 For English speakers: French magazine letters tend to be more formal than the equivalent comment you'd post on a UK/US news site. Keep it polite — even when complaining. Note that « la télé » covers broadcast TV, streaming, and on-demand alike (no separate word like "the box" or "telly").
« Y a-t-il vraiment des chaînes différentes ? On peut toujours trouver des programmes intéressants à la télé. Ceux qui n'aiment pas la télé peuvent toujours l'éteindre, non ? » — Michel, 27 ans
✍️ Your comments (80-120 words)
Write 3 to 5 short comments with your first name and age. Mix positive and negative. Use the consequence structure at least once (from L27) and the futur simple at least once (from L25). The AI will give you feedback 🤖.
Tomorrow's smartphone 📱
The SIMSAM 2000 is the very latest smartphone — it'll hit shops soon. Pick one of the two roles below. Prepare your questions (A) or your answers (B). Then act out the scene with a partner.
🔋 Batterie 48h · 📡 5G · 💧 Étanche
👤 Role A — The buyer
You want to buy a new phone. You've spotted the SIMSAM 2000 and you ask the salesperson questions about what this phone can do.
💡 Prepare 6-8 questions: price, battery life, camera, apps, AI, warranty, contract, delivery, etc.
🛒 Role B — The salesperson
You sell phones in a shop. A customer is asking you about the SIMSAM 2000. Present its price and the features this model has.
💡 Use the futur simple ("Vous pourrez…") and highlighting ("C'est ce modèle qui…").
⚠️ False-friend alert: actuellement doesn't mean "actually" — it means "currently". And une caméra (in French) usually means a video camera, not a still camera (that's un appareil photo).
🤔 Your 6-8 questions (Role A)
Subscribing my child 📰
You're a teacher in a French middle school. The parents of an 11-year-old student would like to subscribe their child to a magazine. You recommend Le Monde des ados. Read the ad below and answer their questions.
🇫🇷 Cultural note: Le Monde des ados is a real French bi-monthly news magazine for tweens (10-14). Think of it as the French equivalent of The Week Junior (UK) or Scholastic News (US/Australia). Subscriptions to print magazines are still common in France for younger readers.
- One big in-depth feature — in every issue
- Clear articles about the world (science, the economy…)
- Helpful advice — schoolwork, reading, and more
- Games and welcome gifts for new subscribers
📚 For young people aged 10-14, curious about the world!
Answer the parents' 7 questions
Based on the ad, answer each of the parents' questions (in French).
- — Est-ce que mon enfant n'est pas un peu trop jeune pour lire ce journal ?
→ - — Que trouve-t-on dans Le Monde des ados ?
→ - — C'est un journal hebdomadaire ?
→ - — Combien coûte l'abonnement ?
→ - — Est-ce le même prix qu'en kiosque ?
→ - — Est-ce qu'il y a un cadeau de bienvenue pour les nouveaux abonnés ?
→ - — Que devons-nous faire pour l'abonner ?
